Community Decorating Contest

July 13, 2020 - The City of Des Plaines is proud to announce the winners of the Red, White Blue and (not so) Blue Community decorating contest. Almost 3 dozen registrants accepted the challenge and decorated their home or business in bunting, balloons and lights for this year's contest.

Here are the winning properties and the category in which they were entered:

We’d also like to give special recognition to MBD Martial Arts recipient of the 2020 Grand Marshal’s Award, presented by the American Legion, Post 36. The American Legion was scheduled to serve as the Grand Marshal in our annual parade on July 4th. As a way to recognize their Centennial Celebration and contribution to the community we partnered with them to present this additional award for patriotic spirit.
