2017 CIP Concrete Contract - Project Update 12/11/2017

December 11, 2017 

Attention: Residents along Oakwood/Walnut alley between Oakwood/Center

Starting Tuesday, December 12, weather permitting, the Center Street alley entrance will be closed to all vehicles for approximately one week. It will reopen, weather permitting, on Monday, December 18. The alley entrance on Oakwood Avenue will be open throughout the entirety of the work.



2017 CIP - Contract A – Project Update 12/06/17

December 6, 2017 

Ardmore (Stratford to Princeton), Drake (Wolf to Amherst), & Cranbrook (Mt. Prospect to Drake)

The landscaping subcontractor is still planning on placing sod this year. Sod will be inspected next year to determine final acceptance. Street signs are also to be replaced in the near future. The schedule for sanitary sewer lining is still to be determined.


Lee Street

All underground work has been completed and pavement restoration will be finished on Thursday, December 7.

2017 CIP - Contract A – Project Update 11/18/17

November 18, 2017 

Ardmore (Stratford to Princeton) & Drake (Wolf to Ardmore)

The paving subcontractor (Arrow Road Construction) is scheduled to pave the final layer (2”) of asphalt pavement on Monday, November 20. Please refrain from placing leaves in the street until after paving is completed on Monday. The next scheduled leaf pickups are on Tuesday, November 21, and Thursday, November 30. Topsoil placement and sodding will then be completed, weather permitting.

Drake (Ardmore to Amherst) & Cranbrook (Mt Prospect to Drake)

The paving subcontractor (Arrow Road Construction) has paved the first layer (4”) of asphalt pavement on Friday, November 17. The next step will be to adjust any manholes in the pavement to the finished pavement elevation. After that, the contractor can pave the final layer (2”) of asphalt pavement. The final paving work has yet to be scheduled. Topsoil placement and sodding will then be completed, weather permitting.

Lee

The contractor has successfully augered and jacked the 24” steel casing pipe under the railroad tracks. The contractor has also pushed the new 12” water main pipe through the casing pipe. The contractor will next connect the new water main to the existing water main on both sides of the railroad tracks. After pressure testing and chlorination testing are successfully completed, Pavement restoration will begin.

2017 CIP - Contract B – Project Update 11/16/17

November 15, 2017 

All work is weather dependent. Unknown utility conflicts may cause delays.

CAMPBELL AVE:

The contractor will continue miscellaneous project clean up on CAMPBELL.

WEST VILLA DR:

The contractor will continue placing topsoil and sod on WEST VILLA.

FIRST AVE:

The contractor will continue miscellaneous project clean up on FIRST.

Topsoil and sod restoration is anticipated to begin within the next two weeks. More information will be available soon.

BROWN ST:

The Contractor has scheduled the work for placing the surface layer of asphalt pavement Friday, November 17 through Tuesday, November 22. Click the link below for more information.

November 3, 2017 

Ardmore

The paving subcontractor (Arrow Road Construction) has completed the process of grading the gravel road base for the first layer of asphalt pavement. They will pave the first layer (4”) of asphalt pavement on Friday, November 3. You will be able to drive on the new asphalt Friday evening. The next step will be to adjust any manholes in the pavement to the finished pavement elevation. After that, the contractor can pave the final layer (2”) of asphalt pavement. Topsoil placement and sodding will then be completed.

Drake

The concrete subcontractor, JG Demo, has completed pouring curb and driveway aprons from Pinehurst to Amherst (inside curve). Once the concrete successfully passes the laboratory strength test, the contractor will remove driveway access from the outside curve of Drake. I estimate this will occur on either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Topsoil placement and sodding will then be completed

Cranbrook

The concrete subcontractor, JG Demo, has completed pouring curb and driveway aprons from Mt Prospect Road to Drake (north side). Once the concrete successfully passes the laboratory strength test, the contractor will remove driveway access from the south side of Cranbrook. I estimate this will occur on either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
