2017 CIP - Contract A – Project Update 9/19/17September 19, 2017
The work on Ardmore has been delayed due to gas service lines that need to be disconnected. A subcontractor for Nicor, National Pipeline Construction Company (NPL), has installed the new gas service lines under Ardmore Road, and connected them to new exterior gas meters at the houses. However, Nicor still needs to disconnect the old gas services from the gas main. The contractor is planning to work around these old gas services as best they can, and plan to resume work on full depth pavement removal and gravel base replacement from Drake to Princeton on Tuesday, September 19. The road reconstruction work should take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting. The concrete subcontractor, JG Demo, will continue to pour concrete sidewalk and driveway aprons south of Drake.
The contractor has completed work on full depth pavement removal and gravel base replacement from Cornell to Pinehurst. The contractor continues to work on the new storm sewer between Village Court and Pinehurst. Concrete curb & gutter will be poured in the near future, followed by sidewalk and driveway aprons.
The new storm sewer has been completed between Radcliffe and Drake. Concrete curb & gutter will be poured in the near future, followed by sidewalk and driveway aprons.
The contractor plans to begin work on Lee Street at the Canadian National Railroad later this week. Work on Lee Street involves augering and jacking a new 12” water main under the railroad tracks. The existing water main has a leak and requires full replacement.
