Vehicle Towing Procedure
 Vehicles can be towed for the following
reasons:
Abandoned vehicle
Illegally parked
Traffic hazard
Recovering foreign and local stolen vehicles
Traffic accidents
Tows due to owner being arrested
Vehicles blocking driveways
Vehicle relocations (parked in snow route, etc)
Whenever a vehicle is towed on the authority of the Des Plaines
Police Department, a signed department pound release vehicle from is
required. This form can be obtained from the Des Plaines Police
Department front desk.
The Des Plaines Police Department currently is under contract
