Parking Violations

Below are the most common parking violations in the city of Des Plaines. If you have any questions on these or any parking violations/ordinances please contact Parking Enforcement at 847-827-4474.

  • No parking within 25 feet of a crosswalk - $25 fine.
  • No parking over "B" truck plate in residential neighborhood - $25 fine.
  • No parking in posted fire lane - $100 fine.
  • No parking within 15 feet of fire hydrant or sprinkler connection - $100 fine.
  • No front license plate - $25 fine.
  • No parking blocking a sidewalk - $25 fine.
  • Residents are reminded to be careful around schools, and to obey parking restrictions and signs by schools. These parking measures were put into place around schools to help keep the children safe and keep traffic flowing before and after school. Officers will continue to monitor and issue tickets for anyone violating parking signs. Please help us keep our children safe by following the law!
