Rebuilding Together
Program is seeking applicants
who are physically or financially unable to maintain their homes.
Rebuilding Together (formerly Christmas in April) is a national
organization, founded in 1988, that is a partnership with
communities that rehabilitates the homes of low-income homeowners,
particularly the elderly and disabled, so that they continue to live
in warmth, safety and independence.
The 2008 Rebuilding Together Day is set for Saturday, April 26,
2008. This event is supported entirely by contributions of time,
labor, material and money. Skilled and unskilled volunteers, along
with able-bodied members of the recipients' families and/or
employees of the sponsoring organizations, complete the repairs at
no cost to the homeowner.
If you are interested in volunteering or have a home that needs
repair please contact Christmas in April/Northwest Suburban Chicago
at 847-904-4366. Applications are due by February 1, 2008.
Applications are available at City of Des Plaines Civic
Center-room 502 or online by clicking here.
