Administrative Division
The Administrative Division provides the
planning, coordination, and control of the many functions performed
by the Department. The Fire Department is headed by the Fire
Chief, with support from two Deputy Chiefs, two Training and Safety
Officers, and a Fire Prevention Bureau Supervisor. This
Division sets the future goals of the Department in the areas of new
concepts, equipment and procedures; coordinates the training of all
personnel from the recruit to the experienced firefighters,
including emergency medical service; develops practices and
procedures for emergency and non-emergency operations; plans,
researches, budgets, and purchases all equipment, supplies and
services used by the Department; coordinates the maintenance and
repair of Department buildings, equipment, and mobile apparatus;
plans and maintains mass disaster, mass casualty and hazardous
material response equipment; pre-plans mutual aid agreements with
neighboring fire departments; and serves as liaison between the
Department and the various branches of City Government.
