If you own or operate a business in Des Plaines, you may be
required to apply for either a business license or a business
regulation certificate. City ordinances require certain types
of Des Plaines businesses to purchase a license or regulation
certificate and prominently display it in the business. This
list includes, but is not limited to: Service and Food
Establishments, Retail/Wholesale Dealers, Industrial Businesses and
Contractors doing business within the City of Des Plaines. Any
business in a commercial location is required to obtain a license or
regulation certificate while those businesses that are home based do
not.
