Heating/Air Conditioning

  1. Completed MECHANICAL permit application. Permit required for new or replacement.
  2. Electrician license needed if new.

Fences

  1. Two plats of survey indicating location and height of fence.
  2. Completed FENCE permit application.
  3. 6’ maximum high in side and rear yards.
  4. Fences in front yards shall not exceed 4’ high and shall be 50% open. Front yard fences shall also be uniform in height, material, type and design.
  5. Enclosed fenced area shall be provided with a gate.
  6. Fence posts shall be on owners side of fence.
  7. Fences shall not exceed 8’ in height in commercial and industrial areas.
  8. Barbed wire fences are not permitted.

  1. Permit is required for satellite dishes over 36" in diameter.
  2. Two plats of survey showing exact location of satellite.
  3. Completed BUILDING permit application.
  4. Structural calculations indicating support.
  5. Shall be installed in rear yard only.

Roof

  1. Completed BUILDING permit application.
  2. Maximum of 2 layers of shingles allowed.
  3. State of Illinois Roofing license required.

Siding

  1. Completed BUILDING permit application.
  2. Permit also required for fascia & soffit work.

Electric

  1. Submit completed ELECTRIC permit application detailing nature of work to be done.

  2. Three sets of plans and specifications.
  3. State Fire Marshall’s permit.

Elevator

  1. Completed BUILDING permit application.
  2. Three sets of plans and specifications.

  1. Completed PLUMBING permit application.
  2. Two plats indicating proposed head locations.
  3. If there are heads in ROW, City Council must approve. Submit $220 along with signed License Agreement, request for license agreement, ROW ;permission form.
  4. Licensed plumber must perform work.

Window Replacement

  1. Complete BUILDING permit application.
  2. No permit required for replacement with no framing opening changes.
  3. Provide header details on framing plan.

Plumbing/Sewer

1. Completed PLUMBING permit application indicating work to be done.
