PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD and PUBLIC HEARING for the:

CONSOLIDATED ANNUAL PERFORMANCE AND
EVALUATION REPORT

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

Notice is hereby given that the City of Des Plaines’ Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for Program Year 2007 will be available for public review and comment beginning Wednesday, November 26, 2008. The CAPER is the City’s annual report to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (H.U.D.) concerning activities using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. Program Year 2007 began October 1, 2007 and ended September 30, 2008.

The City of Des Plaines invites comments on the CAPER. The required 15-day public comment period will begin Wednesday, November 26, 2008 and end Monday, December 15, 2008. The document will be available by visiting or contacting the Department of Community Development, Des Plaines Civic Center, 1420 Miner Street, Room 301, Des Plaines, IL 60016, phone  847-391-5381. Written comments may also be submitted to this address.

A copy of the report will also be available at the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood Street, Des Plaines, IL. 60016, Phone 847-827-5551 and on this page.

PUBLIC HEARING

A public hearing on the CAPER will be held during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting on December 15, 2008. The public hearing will begin at 7:00 pm in Room 102 of the Des Plaines Civic Center, 1420 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016. The CAPER will be submitted, along with citizen comments, to H.U.D. directly following the hearing.
