2008 Press Release: Cook County Board of Review

Commissioner Brendan F. Houlihan
of the Cook County Board of Review, 1st District has notified the
City and the residents of Des Plaines that Elk Grove Township is
open for appeals with the Board of Review. The filing period is from
October 15th to December 1st. The Cook County Board of Review is the
second level of appeals in appealing property tax assessments. His
office is open to answer any questions, as well as help taxpayers
prepare their appeals should they feel they are over assessed. The
office number is 312-603-3644. The Board of Review's
website also contains information about appealing your property
assessment . If you feel you are over assessed based on
similar homes in your area, you have the opportunity to appeal with
the Board of Review. For further information, please call
