2008 Press Release: Police Department To Conduct Safety Checkpoint
For immediate release

The Des Plaines Police Department will be conducting a Roadside
Safety Checkpoint on Friday, August 29, 2008, during the late
evening hours at an undisclosed location in Des Plaines. Officers
will stop vehicles at a specific interval and will check for
defective equipment, proper licensing, valid insurance coverage, and
driving under the influence.
The Des Plaines Police Department wants to remind those who drink
on this Labor Day holiday weekend to have a designated driver with
them to ensure their safety and the safety of all others on the
roadways.
