
2008 Press Release: Memorial Day Ceremony Aired on Local Cable
Channel
For immediate release
June 13, 2008
Des Plaines resident cable television subscribers may view the
2008 Memorial Day Ceremony presented by the local veterans
organizations on Channel 17 at the following times: Sunday, 6:00 pm;
Tuesday, 9:00 am; Thursday, 9:00 am and 1:00 pm; and Saturday 9:00
am and 1:00 pm. The Memorial Day Ceremony was held at the Lake Park
band shell. The production runs approximately 1 hour.

Local Officials, 4th Ward Alderman Jean Higgason
(front), 6th Ward Alderman Mark Walsten (back left), Mayor Tony
Arredia (right), and State Representative Elaine Nekritz (partially
visible) present a Memorial wreath commemorating those who gave the
ultimate sacrifice to the country.

Representing the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)
Commander Steven Schaefer served as the Master of Ceremonies at this
year’s past Memorial Day event now showing on Des Plaines Government
Access Cable Channel 17.
