2008 Press Release: Islamic Community Center Presents Check to
Avenues To Independence
For immediate release
April 14, 2008
 Members of the Islamic Community Center of
Des Plaines, 480 Potter Road, recently presented a check for $500 to
Avenues To Independence, a local non-profit,
charitable organization, providing residential, vocational and daily
living support in a wide variety of programs for adults with autism,
cerebral palsy, Down’s Syndrome and other developmental
disabilities. The presentation took place in Des Plaines Mayor Tony
Arredia’s Office. (pictured above left to right) Third Ward Alderman
Laura Murphy, Des Plaines Mayor Tony Arredia, Ghulam M. Farooqui,
Islamic Community Center, and Ann Marie Ehrlich, Avenues To
Independence, pose for a photograph in the Mayor’s Office as
the check is presented.
