Emergency Services surrounding victim from simulated accident at Operation Prom Night Program

Maine West High School juniors and seniors took part in the Operation Prom Night Program, Thursday, May 3, 2007. In light of the upcoming proms, members of the City of Des Plaines Emergency Services, cooperatively with the High School, presented the program, which involves a simulated fatal automobile accident involving an intoxicated driver. This year’s program took place on the football field at Maine West, followed by presentations in the auditorium. Several featured speakers addressed the students on making the right decisions including Des Plaines Fire Chief John Heavey; Dr. William Grice, Pastor of the Congregational Church; Marti Belluschi, who relayed her personal experiences as a victim of a drunk driver; Des Plaines Police Officer Tara Goble; and Vice President of Maine West High School Dave Berendt. This marks the 9th Prom Night in 17 years.

Pictured are scenes from the simulated automobile accident which was staged as part of Operation Prom Night at Maine West High School.
