The Des Plaines Special Events Commission officially thanked the top three sponsors of the 2006/2007 New Year’s Eve on the Plaza at the April 2, 2007 City Council Meeting. Representatives of the three sponsoring agencies, Pesche’s Flower Shop & Greenhouses (providing carriage rides at the New Year’s Eve community event), Des Plaines Honda Motorcycles (providing trolley rides and four bicycles for the raffle), and Harris Bank (providing decorations) received plaques from the Mayor, City Council and Special Events Commission for their generous donations. Jim Wozny, Chairman of the New Year’s Eve event, which attracted approximately 4,000 people, and Chairman of the Special Events Commission Linda Forman met with the sponsors following the meeting to express thanks.
