Des Plaines City Clerk Announces Early Voting
Release Date: February 23, 2009

Des Plaines City Clerk Donna McAllister has announced that "Early Voting" will be conducted 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday though Friday and Saturday, 9:00 am to Noon, beginning Monday, March 16, 2009, and ending Thursday, April 2, 2009, in Room 103 of Des Plaines City Hall, 1420 Miner Street. "Early Voting" permits voters to cast a ballot without providing a specific reason. For additional information call the City Clerks Office at 847-391-5310. Please consult Cook County's website at www.voterinfonet.com to look up precincts, view sample ballots, verify registration, etc.

City Clerk Announces Last Day To Register to Vote
Release Date:  February 10, 2009

Des Plaines City Clerk Donna McAllister has announced that the last day to register to vote in the Des Plaines City Clerk’s Office prior to the Tuesday, April 7, 2009 Consolidated Election is Tuesday, March 10, 2009.

Citizens wishing to register must bring two forms of identification to the City Clerk’s Office, Room 602, City Hall, 1420 Miner St. Individuals born outside the United States will need to present naturalization papers. Hours in the City Clerk’s Office for registering are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.

Filing hours in the City Clerk's Office, 6th Floor, 1420 Miner St., are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, weekdays. Filing will close promptly at 5:00 pm, Monday, January 26, 2009.

If petitions are filed for the same office at 8:30 am on the first day of filing, Tuesday, January 20, 2009, a public lottery will be held within seven (7) days after the last day of the petition filing period, Monday, January 26, 2009.
