Tennis In The
SunShine Tournament
Des Plaines 6th Ward Alderman Mark Walsten and 7th Ward Alderman
Dan Wilson will host Tennis in the SunShine!, sponsored by the Des
Plaines Park District, 9:30 AM—3 PM, Saturday, June 6, 2009, at
Maine West High School Tennis Courts, 1755 S. Wolf Road. An entrance
fee of $20 per person will be charged with proceeds being used to
help fund prostate cancer research at Loma Linda University.
Points earned through singles competition will be used to award
prize coupons which may be used at the Taste of Des Plaines being
held this same weekend in Library Plaza, downtown Des Plaines.
Matches will be arranged in flights and by gender so all
participants will be able to play against competitors with similar
skills.
Applications for the competition are available above or the Des
Plaines Park District’s website, www.desplainesparks.org. There are
also copies available at City Hall, 1420 Miner Street. Your
completed application and fee should be returned to the Des Plaines
Park District Administrative and Leisure Center, 2222 Birch Street.,
