U.S. AND CANADA TO ATTEMPT GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR LARGEST CAR
WASH
CARSTAR SOAPS IT UP! NATIONAL CAR WASH SET FOR JUNE 20, 2009 AT
WALLY’S CARSTAR AT 1200 E. Golf Rd in Des Plaines.
Calling all dirty cars across Des Plaines. Wally’s CARSTAR is
looking for cars – and their drivers – to help the company set the
Guinness World Record for the largest car wash in history.
WHO: WALLY’S CARSTAR, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Des Plaines Cub
Scout Pack #25
WHAT: WALLY’s CARSTAR will join in the Soaps It Up! Car Wash held
across the U.S. and Canada on June 20, 2009 as a fundraiser for
Make-A-Wish Foundation® in the U.S. and Cystic Fibrosis in Canada,
as well as Cub Scout Pack #25 locally. More than 200 CARSTAR stores
throughout both countries are expected to participate in the one-day
event. CARSTAR will need to wash more than 4,000 vehicles during an
eight-hour period at all of the participating locations. The local
Cub Scout troop, Make-A-Wish charity volunteers and CARSTAR staff
will be on hand to wash the vehicles as well as a Guinness World
Records® official to validate the feat if successful.
WHERE: 1200 E. Golf Rd. in Des Plaines near Holy Family
Resurrection Medical Center Between River Road and Rand Road.
WHEN: June 20, 2009, from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Tickets are being
sold at Wally’s CARSTAR store for $10, with 100 percent of the
ticket purchase benefiting the selected charities.
Media Opportunity: Media are invited to cover the CARSTAR "Soaps
It Up!" National Car Wash and help document the setting of the
Guinness World Record for "Most Cars Washed – Multiple Venues".
CARSTAR owner Sherri Slater will be on hand for interviews.
