Arbor Day

Arbor Day 2008 was observed in the City of Des
Plaines last Friday with a special planting at Iroquois Community
School. A Crimson King Norway Maple was planted on the grounds of
the school. (pictured above left to right) 6th Ward Alderman Mark
Walsten, Des Plaines Mayor Tony Arredia, 5th Grade Iroquois Student
Autumn Walczak, 2nd Ward Alderman Marty Moylan, and District 62
Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources plant the tree in honor
of Arbor Day. Des Plaines Public Works Department coordinated the
planting with the School District.
