Special Events: Lake Wonderland Winter Festival

Lake Wonderland Winter FestivalFor holiday fun guaranteed to create memories, residents may wish to check out the 3rd Annual Lake Wonderland Winter Festival, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday, December 8 and 9, 2007, at Lake Park, presented by the Des Plaines Park District and the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Join the fun as Lake Park becomes a magical place full of sparkling lights and decorated trees. You can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, costumed characters in the park, kid’s bingo, crafts, outdoor games, live entertainment on stage, plenty of great food and free pictures with that famous man in red, Santa (sponsored by the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce & Industry). This year’s entertainment includes the O’Hare Irish Dancers, the Maine West Jazz Band, Iditarod Race Huskies, magician Jeffery the Great, the Prospect High School Madrigal Singers, the Notables, Artistry in Motion and much more from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm on both days of the festival. A number of fir trees are still available for businesses, community organizations and families to purchase for decorating. The Park District provides the lights, and groups must provide their own decorations. 2007 sponsors include: The Willows Academy, Evolution Marketing Group, Carnica, Inc., B&E Accounting and the Comfort Inn O’Hare.
