2014 Contract A – Construction Update 10/20/14

All work is weather permitting.  Unknown utility conflicts may also cause delays.

Seegers Road

The contractor will continue miscellaneous clean up and place and grade topsoil in preparation for new sod.

Henry Avenue

The contractor will work on miscellaneous project clean up and punchlist repairs.

Whitcomb Avenue

The contractor will begin pavement removal on Monday October 20 on Whitcomb between White and River Rd.  All existing pavement, curb, driveway aprons will be removed.  Various sidewalk will be removed where marked.  After removals, the contractor will excavate for the widening and place the new stone base.  It is anticipated this work will take approximately 7 days.  Click here for the notice->Whitcomb - Roadway Removals

The contractor will also continue with storm sewer and miscellaneous sewer repairs on the blocks between Cora and White and Center and Cora.  The pavement removal operations for these blocks will be scheduled at a later date.

The contractor will be making final water main connections at the intersection of Cora and Whitcomb on Wednesday 10/22.  This intersection will be closed to traffic from 7am to 4pm.  Click here for the notice->Water Main Shut Down Cora (Algonquin to Forest)

The contractor will begin making final water main connections at Center and Whitcomb beginning on Thursday 10/23.  Note that Center Street will be closed to traffic at Whitcomb Ave from 7am-4pm on 10/23-10/24 and 10/27-10/28.

The contractor plans to work SATURDAY, October 25 to continue removing pavement.  They will continue on the 1600-1700 block of Whitcomb.  Click here for the notice->Whictomb Roadway Removals - Saturday Work 10/25

2014 Contract A – Construction Update 10/13/14

Seegers Road

The contractor will continue miscellaneous repairs and clean up in preparation for paving the final asphalt surface.  They will also place and grade topsoil in preparation for new sod.

Henry Avenue
The contractor will work on miscellaneous project clean up and punchlist repairs.

Whitcomb Avenue

The contractor will begin installing the storm sewer and miscellaneous sewer repairs on Monday, October 13.  This work consists of replacing the catch basins on each side of the street and replacing the lateral pipe across Whitcomb.  Each location will take a few hours to complete.  The contractor anticipates completing 2-3 locations per day.  The contractor anticipates this phase will take 10 days.  Click here for the notice->Whitcomb - Storm Sewer Installation and Repairs

The contractor will make final water main connections at the intersection of White and Whitcomb on Thursday, October 16.  A water shut down has been scheduled from 9am to 2pm, affecting the following residents:

White from Whitcomb to Forest
Whitcomb from Cora to White

The intersection of White and Whitcomb will be CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC on 10/16 - 10/17 from 7am to 4pm to complete the following work:

10/16 (water main work)
10/17 (for misc sewer repairs and clean-up)

The contractor will be working on Saturday October 18 on Whitcomb between White St and River Rd for various storm sewer repairs.

The contractor will continue miscellaneous repairs and clean up in preparation for paving the final asphalt surface.

Henry Avenue

The contractor will continue miscellaneous project clean up in preparation for paving the final asphalt surface.

Whitcomb Avenue

The contractor will continue transferring water services on Whitcomb this week.  They will be working on the 1500-1600-1700 blocks.

The contractor will connect the new water system to the existing system at Whitcomb and River Road.  In order to complete this work, a water shut down is required for River Road between Whitcomb and Forest.  The water shut down has been scheduled for Friday, October 10, from 9am to 1pm.  Click here for the notice-> Water Shut Down - River Road (Whitcomb-Forest)
