As of June 7th, 2013, work on the US Route 14 (Miner St.) Streetscape/Roadway Improvements is progressing.
Work Completed: The sidewalk in Phase 2. Portions of the brick & granite pavers have been installed in Phase 1. Limestone caps on the planter walls “B” & “C” were installed. Main line irrigation has been installed in Phase 2. Upcoming Work: Phase 1 is anticipated to be complete by June 15th, with remaining pavers, irrigation, electrical, and landscape taking place next week. Milling and patching of pavement is also scheduled for Phase 1 and 2 next week. As soon as access is restored to the west side of the Metra Station building, sidewalk and pavement removals will proceed in Phase 3 (South of Miner, East of Metra Station up to Pearson St.) There will be partial closures of sidewalks, parking lots and traffic lanes to facilitate the work. All work is weather dependent. Utility conflicts and weather have caused some delays in the progress. The overall completion date for underground and hard scape features has been revised to September 3, 2013.
